STREET STYLE:: BRAID ME

Such bad hair envy right now. That braid! When I was a kid I had a book of braids and plaits and my mom would braid my hair before school. I believe this one is the inside-out french braid. Just like a regular french braid but backwards (think: left under middle, right under middle, repeat). I remember the hardest was the fishtail, my dad had to chip in for fishtail days because it required 3 hands haha.

INTERIORS:: THE ENTRYWAY

Do I really need to state the obvious? I look at this chic entryway and all I see is D.I.Y.!
Gilded gold picture frame, remove the backing, stretch colorful ribbons et voila! Instant upgrade from the college corkboard.
And you can choose colors that compliment your own home. Gold not quite your color? Paint the frame a glossy white and use kelly green ribbons, or a dove grey frame and yellow ribbons. Display pretty postcards or party invitations, magazine clippings or whatever you fancy.
Oh to have a well-organized entryway.. complete with yellow rainboots, antique chair and unique coat rack.

Is that white rainboot a ceramic umbrella holder in disguise? Love.

Have you ever invented something and then kept the invention in your head and then rue the day that someone else creates it before you do???

Ridiculously cool Decanterlights by interior designer Lee Broom for London bar Coquine. Let the record show that I drew this in my sketchbook way before this!

The Decanterlights are available for purchase (for what I can only assume is an exorbitant amount of money) but I'd rather create my own using decanters from flea markets. Just remove the bottom (glass cutter?) and insert lightbulb! They fragment light in a magical way, and I'm imagining them hung around my imaginary house - over the bar area, hanging from trees for a garden soiree...
