HAPPY HALLOWEEN

Happy Halloween friends! If I had my way I'd invite you all to a fabulously spooky dinner party seated at this candlelit table. And if I had my way it would not cost $38 to buy a pumpkin here in Sydney. But alas, I saved my pennies and went without a pumpkin this year. And we'll just have to admire and take note of the beautiful bottle candle holders for future use. West Elm is selling a similar version in green here, but I'm inclined to think a diy is in order.

INTERIORS:: DINING ROOM INSPIRATION

Dining, conversing and even working in this dining room, with its chandeliers and antique wooden table would definitely feel glamorous. When I was in high school my favorite place to do homework was in our dining room.. there’s something much more bearable about spreading out your paperwork on a big table under the light of a chandelier ;) The modern touches like the metal chairs and white vases, keep this room from getting stuffy. I've already accepted that these chandeliers would not be appropriate for my little apartment, but one day...

EDITORIAL:: CHORES + GLAMOUR

My friend Marisa once told me she likes to wear pretty sundresses to do chores - it makes grocery shopping all the less mundane. I loved the idea and I want to start putting it into practice (if not dresses then at the very least some lipstick)! And besides, we could all use a bit more glamour in our lives, right? Here's an editorial to get us into the spirit of things.

As excited as I am that summer is finally on its way, I'm also bummed that I don't get to take part in the aviator trend for 2. whole. seasons. The shearling just looks soo inviting, don't you think?
For now I'll just have to make do with dark lipstick experimentation. Any suggestions?

INTERIORS:: LIVING ROOM INSPIRATION

Looking to add some color to my living room with some art or a new end table. Right now I'm loving metallic finishes and rich colors on a neutral backdrop. Just bought some silver lamp shades for my blue lamps - baby steps.


I know acquiring home accessories over a long period of time is the tried and true method, but don't you just wish you could snap your fingers and have this?

Ok so initially at the thought of two gold cuffs I'm thinking Genie from Aladdin in a big way - but, this look is really kind of growing on me. I'm not saying I'm ready to walk outside with a cuff on each wrist today, but let's just say I'll start with one and possibly fantasize about what the second would do for my style prowess.

 Crazy about Erin's totem pole dress, it's kind of magical, no? I assumed this would be one of those impossible to find don't even get your hopes up kind of pieces, but with some snooping I found it's actually available at bonadrag in both a mini and maxi version! For $400 and $450 respectively. I don't know what's worse, having this dress live unattainably in my imagination, or knowing exactly where to find it at a prohibitively high price, hmmm..

**Edit: As I was publishing this post the maxi sold out. Solves that problem!

EDITORIAL:: BACK + JACKETS

I'm BACK! I've spent the last couple of weeks travelling from Sydney to Houston to Austin to LA visiting friends and family and finally attending the wedding (the point of the trip). I was somewhat deluded in thinking I could keep up with posting all the while, but here's to a new start and maybe even some photos from the wedding!

For now, I have to admit the hardest part about switching hemispheres is that while I'm heading into summer (which I'm super excited about!) all of the clothing stores were mocking me with their furs and their leathers, and of course the boots. So here is what I'm wanting right now...

I have a big black & white picture frame on a grey wall, and as I've said before I'm really wanting to paint the walls a light grey to make my artwork pop more. But maybe I should just paint the frame? About 1/100th the surface area, work, and cost - and it looks great here!

Mesmerized by these pants. Grey is one of my favorite colors to wear, more interesting than both black and white. And how great does the shocking hot pink look with grey! If you weren't $620, I'd buy you.

P.S. Sorry for the slow down in posts! Spent the last few days visiting friends in my old hometown Austin.
Which probably helped trigger this rock & roll clothing craving (live music capital of the world, fyi).
Also enjoyed: Margaritas at Gloria's, thrifting & Home Slice on South Congress, managed to fit in some BBQ & Mexican too, which made for a really full stomach when dancing on 6th (suck in Cristina!), breakfast tacos at Juan in a Million this morning, oh and my fav activity ever, fantasy house hunting, and yes, I did find some keepers.
Oh and Hey Austin, I miss you already ;(
