WEDDING:: Max + Shoes

Max Azria!
Just wanted to share some snaps from a friend's wedding I went to in LA recently. These are actually from the rehearsal dinner which was held at the bride's father's home (just around the corner from the Beverly Hills hotel!) The setting was beautiful, complete with chandeliers hanging from the trees.

The bride's uncle just so happens to be Max Azria (who designs BCBG, Herve Leger, etc!) so I was a total fan-girl and got a photo with Uncle Max. He really was just a sweet uncle! His wife Lubov was wearing the YSL mohawk shoes - die. But the most exciting part of the night? The Shoe Goddess told me she liked my shoes!! (I was wearing these).

INTERIORS:: Christmas Dining + Ikea

Tis' the season.. for a Christmas blog! Ikea has started a Christmas blog called Gilla Julen, or 'Like Christmas.' This beautiful living room has that chaotic feel of seating the whole family with mis-matched chairs from around the house and even a stack of books! Cute.. but I wouldn't want to get stuck with the books!

STREET STYLE:: Leopard + Yellow

Lately I'm drawn to the unexpected combination of leopard and yellow - they work surprisingly well together! The key is obviously the denim shirt which, much to my dismay, is still on my list of things to get!
Leopard and yellow, like peanut butter and bananas. Delicious!

RUNWAY:: DSQUARED + BOY STYLE

Feeling inspired by boys. Girls dressed like boys to be exact. Take for example Dsquared Spring 2011, those cute twinsy brothers know what I mean!

RUNWAY:: THANKSGIVING + PROENZA SCHOULER

Loose fitting. Waist band that sits well above the waist. Pilgrim-ish collar. Dark colors to camouflage food baby bump. This is my dream Thanksgiving dress.

INTERIORS:: THANKSGIVING TABLESCAPES

Happy Thanksgiving!
This was my third Thanksgiving in Australia, and as an American abroad it is a little challenging (read: searching so many American candy stores for canned pumpkin only to find that there was a pumpkin shortage this year! and then mashing squash myself to try and make some semblance of a pumpkin pie!)
BUT, it was also incredibly exciting to share it with my friends who were all experiencing their FIRST Thanksgiving.
Also. Cooking is exhausting. I wish I had this Friday off to recover but unfortunately me and my food baby are off to work now!

The fall colors and antlers really have no relevance here in Australia where we're just at the beginning of summer. So I'm dreaming of this set up below.

And I'd paint some tiny pumpkins silver for a cute accent!

STREET STYLE:: ZARA + LEATHER

Another item for the Christmas wishlist... THIS Zara jacket. It has the perfect slouch, the perfect collar (moto but not too biker chick) and some great detailing on the shoulders and pockets. And just in case you're wondering how I'd wear it?? Here are 3 different ways.

p.s. brown please!

STREET STYLE:: PRETTY UNDERTHINGS

Ok, my boyfriend's thesis was due today and after days and days of proofreading I can now focus on the things I really enjoy looking at. Like these pretty underthings!!

INTERIORS:: EASIEST DIY EVER

Step 1. Take a canvas
Step 2. Paint it black

DONE!

These photos show that a black canvas works beautifully with white walls and accessories, and pink orchids really pop against this backdrop! It also serves to add some depth to a room and really anchor the space. So what's stopping you? Surely the easiest. DIY. ever.

To whom it may concern:
Go ahead and add these Prada sunglasses to my Christmas wishlist. They're all sorts of sexy.

INTERIORS:: BLUE VELVET COUCH

I want a blue velvet couch for Christmas. Not that I'm expecting anything of that scale but I'm desperately in love with this blue velvet couch and Christmas is on its way so, add it to the wishlist!
I also just remembered that Big & Carrie's couch in SATC2 was blue velvet as well, and who hasn't been inspired by a SATC set? (Raise your hand if you painted your bedroom blue after the first movie!)
Thought so.

STREET STYLE:: LEOPARD + LIPS

Another great leopard look with the collar buttoned all the way up, and those lips are the cherry on top!
I basically cannot get enough.

STREET STYLE:: ALANA + LEOPARD

Love the mix of a prim buttoned up collar with some wild spots! Keepin it fresh Alana Zimmer.
Also, the sight of all these cobblestones gives me sympathy pains for those pretty heels.

INTERIORS:: FRANCINE TURK + SHOWROOM

I want to live in this showroom! It belongs to Julia Edelman of Buckingham ID, and all of the beautiful nudes on the wall are by artist Francine Turk. Her works were also on the set of the Break Up with Vince Vaughn... love Vince Vaughn. Sigh. But anyway, this set up would make a fantastic living and dining area!

Ideas to try: paint a chair hot pink (like this!) and set it against a wall of framed sketches, notes, heck a few of those frames are even empty!

LOOKBOOK:: STYLESTALKER + DESERT FOX

One of my very favorite labels, Stylestalker, just released their newest collection Desert Fox. Every Stylestalker piece in my closet is honestly my go-to piece for, well, everything. I've worn them dancing all night, lazing on the beach, even to a wedding! This new collection has definitely got my mouth watering. Unfortunately I've gone and fallen for the accessories, which are not for sale. Booo.

PARTY:: VOGUE MASQUERADE

Hope you all had a beautiful weekend! I finally had a successful trip to the beach Saturday and a hot and sticky Sunday at Newtown Festival. The first tan of the summer is setting in and now it's back to work! Didn't manage to fit in a masquerade ball with my supermodel and designer friends.. but here's just a little peak into that fab fantasy.
