WHAT (ALEXA) WORE:: GLASTONBURY 2011

I'll admit this is a bit of an Alexa fest, but let's be honest, she is the queen of festivalwear. (Second only to Kate Moss who seems most at home in a muddy field). If you love Alexa's white summery dress as much as I do, you might be excited to know it's for sale on Topshop.com right NOW!
The question is, is Alexa's influence over me powerful enough to cause a $70 purchase?
Perhaps.

EDITORIAL:: DREE + BEACH

Bikinis are so passe. Next time I go to the beach I'll be wearing a highlighter yellow cocktail dress and Miu Miu pumps. Dree makes me want to do crazy things, like scuba dive in a dress. It's winter here in Sydney, but soon enough I'll be somewhere hot and I'm filing away all these hot weather ideas til then!

ACCESSORIES:: WRIST CANDY

Yummy wrist candy! So many possible combinations of colors and textures and sizes. All these goodies actually belong to Andy of Style Scrapbook, love how she mixes her different colored watches. I have a neon pink watch I use for running (which is rare. so rare).. perhaps I should throw it into my daily wrist mix for some color.

INTERIORS:: ART GALLERY

The first thing I see when I look at a room is the art, so imagine my glee in staring at this living room by Eric Cohler! Art everywhere. Even over the windows! My little art collection so far consists of 5 paintings, but it's my dream that one day my home will be filled with this much art. Large format paintings mixed with black and white photography and traditional paintings, love it all.
And how bout that couch?

SHOES:: MIU MIU + Glitter

These glittery shoes are irresistible to the girly girl in all of us. My glittery stilettos left my feet in pain for days after wearing them dancing New Year's Eve - I haven't worn them since. But these miu miu's actually have me re-considering putting those death traps back on. They're that. good.

RUNWAY:: T by Alexander Wang Resort 2012

This never happens - I prefer the T by A Wang's Resort to the more expensive Alexander Wang. Mostly because I can more easily see myself wearing the T collection for every day.
Can we all take a second to collectively freak out about 2012??
How is it that we're halfway through 2011? I feel like New Year's Eve just happened, slow dooown.

WHAT I WORE:: White Shift

What I wore this weekend. Was in a minimalist mood, so I put on this little vintage shift -- does anyone know a good way to get rid of that vintage smell?? Ickh
Despite the smell, this dress looks surprisingly modern! So I paired the 60's shape with these super modern shoes. These shoes aren't so popular with ... well, anyone, but I love 'em! I once told my boyfriend that they were horse hoof-inspired, and now every time I walk in them he clip clops around behind me. #manrepelling
Oh and these are my new sunglasses! My substitutes for these, but much much cheaper. Anyway hope you all had a fantastic weekend! On Friday I went to the Guylian cafe (as in the seashell chocolates!) and I had a Guylian baked chocolate cake, with chocolate ice cream, and a hot chocolate! YUM!!
sunglasses: Mink Pink
dress: vintage
leather jacket: Zara (old)
watches: Michael Kors & vintage

THIS WEEK ON:: THE OLSENS

Most of these photos were taken of the girls at LAX, they must do an awful lot of travelling! Can't say I enjoy the hours I spend at airports, and I don't even have photographers taking pictures of me when I get off the plane. Although one time I stood behind Pamela Anderson in customs at LAX, and then paparazzi were taking pictures! And let me just say they looked like the scum of the earth, pretty happy not to have them in my life. Anyway it's a 3-day weekend here in oz so if you're travelling take a cue from MKA and look fab while flying!

I'LL HAVE WHAT SHE'S HAVING:: ANNABELLE DEXTER-JONES

Possibly the most charming smile I have ever seen. Add Annabelle Dexter-Jones to the list of fashionistas I want to name my daughter after (along with Harley Viera Newton and Peony Lim). Her father is Mick Jones of the band Foreigner, her mother is Anna Dexter (socialite writer) and her step father is Laurence Ronson, making her half-sibling to Samantha, Charlotte, and Mark Ronson. Quite the family tree. Oh and her boyfriend is legendary French graffiti artist Andre Saraiva.
"Annabelle likes her dresses, shorts and skirts to be short, and her sweaters, cardigans and t-shirts small and tight... With minimal effort she creates a style that suggests a 'less is more' sentiment. And she mixes in vintage where ever she can. " -Natalie Joos
She is too adorable for words, so just watch this video and I'm sure by the end of it you will be wishing you were Annabelle Dexter-Jones just like I do.
p.s. that's just her dad singing

CFDA AWARDS 2011:: SUITS + GOWNS

The first thing I noticed about the CFDA red carpet this year was the stark contrast between the girly glamazons and the smart suits - on men and women! Kirsten Dunst and Celine designer Phoebe Philo both rocked streamlined suits that really had me questioning which look I would opt for in a red carpet situation. Sleek & chic menswear? Or bombshell gown?
Okay I'm sure in the end it would be bombshell all the way a la Miranda Kerr, maybe even matching purses with my bestie like the Olsens - the girly girl in me can't resist a Cinderella moment.
Which would you pick??
Be sure to check out my post on how to look girly in menswear, now on coco+kelley!

INTERIORS:: BRIGHT + COLORFUL MONDAY

I walked down to the Opera House tonight and just by chance the Vivid light festival was on! All of Sydney's most beautiful buildings were lit up with colorful light displays, most notably the sails of the Opera House were alive with color. What a happy surprise for my Monday night! So in the spirit of bright and colorful surprises, here is an interior that should brighten anyone's day.

EDITORIAL:: V magazine #69

I absolutely love seeing clothing come to life off the runway, and this editorial in V Magazine's Issue #69 really sent my imagination into overdrive. It's also fun to see a group of girls in each photo all styled differently, as opposed to the typical solo shot. I like to think that this is a group of best friends with FIERCE style. They mix and mingle wardrobes at will, but they each have a distinctly unique personal style. Think Serena and Blair, the SATC girls, or even Baby-sitters Club - but way edgier. (I was so Claudia Kishi).
p.s. if you loved Claudia Kishi from the Baby-sitters Club too, you might also love this blog dedicated to her - What Claudia Wore
p.p.s. is anyone else still having issues with Blogger?? I find that when I try to comment on yall's bogs it sends me into a never-ending loop of having to sign in... I realize this is a silly question because if in fact you are having trouble commenting you will not be able to leave me a comment to let me know!
